    Hey, newbie player here. Just suggesting a way to turn down (or turn off) motion blur if there isn't already a way. It looks pretty and all but it causes me a small bit of lag and personally I like the game too look clearer than all blurry like. In the ark, I don't see any motion blur when near the trading terminals where npc "Miles" is but throughout the rest of the ark the motion blur occurs

    Hi everyone. I am also new here. And I agree with Aankou here. It would be great to turn off motion blur. It messes with my head and I also get little lags.
    Else I am really happy with the game so far :D

    Hi guys,
    First off, I really do not recommend playing about with the game engine files without (a) understanding the risks and consequences; (b) knowing what you are doing; and (c) having a backup of said files.
    Second, the only official way to disable Motion Blur in UE4 is for the developers to change it on their side. That suggests that any advice I give about changing files client-side will:
    • Not work;
    • Corrupt your files and email your entire porn collection to your grandmother and your boss, plus sign you up as an escort on several BDSM fetish dating sites;
    • Hack into various law-enforcement agencies in your country and label you as a terrorist;
    • Crash the game/prevent the graphic engine initializing properly.
    If that has not put you off the idea of tinkering, then you are crazy. However, the basescalability.ini file located in \steamapps\common\Project Genom\Engine\Config contains sections for an engine variable "r.MotionBlurQuality" in 4 different sections. Given that the game is currently hard-coded to use certain graphics options that are not representative of the settings you select in-game, I have no idea which (if any) you can change to disable Motion Blur, but those settings are the only thing I can think of on the client side that might have any effect. However, setting one or all of them to r.MotionBlurQuality=0 might have the desired effect.

    Thank you for your response :). Yes, I read a post of someone who really improved the graphics by editing an .ini file. So I assumed it would also work on Motion Blur. However it's not my first choice to edit anything about the files. I just wanted to bring the Devs attention to it :).

    Yes, I used to do more with those in the pre-Steam days. I am just a bit cautious when it comes to modifying game data of online games in Steam. I know it usually concerns only games with Valve Anticheat but you never know. You hear all kinds of stories about bans...

    Anti cheat looks for injected code and a few other things, and some online games look for modified files.

    Altered .conf are never looked for or ever will be, as the game can chage the file and anticheat systems wouldnt get that info, .config files secondary use besides holding settings is the be altered for troubleshooting.

    Ok, so I learned something new today :). So I'll have a look at that. That's good to know.I wasn't too sure about which files were looked into and I also might be a bit too paranoid about my account :D. Too much money I put into it and too many games I own to get a ban.
